I am an experienced speaker on the topics of evidence-based treatment for PTSD, program development, trauma-informed care, social justice and advocacy as it relates to trauma, and special issues and considerations for traumatized individuals. I am a dedicated advocate for mental health services for traumatized populations and historically marginalized individuals. My work has afforded me the privilege of working with multidisciplinary staff to coordinate treatment and implement programming and I have built and maintained positive and collaborative relationships with leadership, providers, and staff from all disciplines.
I have championed and built from the ground up a comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program in which I led a team of 10 clinicians. I advocated for its implementation, collected data on its effectiveness, and presented my findings to leadership and to multiple VA hospitals. I have also spoken at international trauma conferences, conferences on third-wave therapies, and at APA. I was also fortunate to serve as the training coordinator for the Trauma Services Program at the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center and am passionate about supervision, mentoring, and consultation.
In addition to my work in the VA/DoD, I am a founding co-owner of a collective of clinicians who provide trauma treatment in the community. The Trauma Resilience and Education Center of Greater Washington, DC (TREC DC) is available to provide expert care to individuals impacted by trauma. In addition to clinical treatment we are also dedicated to outreach and raising awareness of trauma-related issues and enhancing training opportunities for clinicians. I have also taught and guest lectured in psychology doctoral programs on the topic of supervision and consultation. I am an enthusiastic speaker who engages audiences. I strive to provide training that not only highlights the science and theory of psychology but also its practical application.
